Discover Panama

Arrival at Tocumen international airport in Panama City. First contact with the country. You will have a private transfer to your hotel. Please hand your travel documents.

Your driver will pick you up at your hotel for a city tour of Panama City.

Our first stop of the day will be in Panama La Vieja, first capital of the country before it was destroyed by the famous pirate Henry Morgan.

Then, we will head to the must-see Panama Canal and the Miraflores Locks. The visitor center offers a view on transiting vessels of all sorts (container ships, cruise ships, or tiny yachts). It explains the history of the Canal and how the locks work.

We will end our day with a tour in the Casco Antiguo. This bohemian center of Panama City will make you travel in time and immerge into the the historical past of the country. Take a walk in the narrow streets bordered with colorful buildings leading to the Plaza de Francia. Discover the Art-Deco architecture, the cathedral and visit the Panama Canal Museum.

Note 1: the Canal Museum and Panama La Vieja are closed on Mondays.
Note 2: The order of the visits depends on the Canal schedule.

Early in the morning, private transfer from your hotel to the train station of Corozal.

Embark for a one-hour journey to Colón, on the Atlantic coast, aboard the Panama Canal Railway.

Note: Departure from Panama at 7:15, except on weekends.

Departure for the city of Portobelo, discovered by Columbus in 1502.
Today, Portobelo is a quiet village whose ruins are listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO.
You can visit the remains of the forts of Santiago and San Jeronimo and San Felipe Church that houses the famous Cristo Nazareno or Black Christ.
If time allows it, make sure you visit the Royal Customs building that houses a small museum explaining the history of the area.

Free time to discover Portobelo and its Afro-Caribbean atmosphere.
On the way to the Panamanian capital, we suggest you take a detour to the castle of San Lorenzo, a former pirate landmark at the mouth of the Chagres River.

Early in the morning, departure from your hotel to go meet the Embera Indians on the banks of the Chagres River, where a member of the community will come and welcome you.


Day dedicated to meeting the Emberas Quera.
A motorboat will take you up the river, to the community.
On the other side of the river, you will be greeted by the cacique (spiritual leader) and the children of the village. Throughout the day, you will discover their way of life and traditions, including the art of tattoos.

They will also share with you their knowledge of medicinal plants, they will show you their traditional dances and together you will go on a small island to watch the monkeys.

Finally, a typical fish dish is served on banana leaves.

You will head to the small village of Gamboa, ideally located between the Soberania National Park and the Panama Canal.

Free day to enjoy the surroundings and the many activities offered by the Gamboa resort. Its position on the Panama Canal and its architecture make it a unique place. Surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and bordered by the Chagres River, it offers an extraordinary view of Lake Gatun and the Panama Canal.

Take your vehicle and head to the province of Coclé, more specifically the Anton Valley nestled in the heart of an extinct crater.
On your way to this lush land, you will take the famous Bridge of the Americas. This one spans the canal and connects, in some way, North America and South America.
Installation at the hotel and free time to enjoy the attractions offered in the area.

Free day to enjoy at your leisure the Anton Valley and the variety of activities available in the area.
You can hike (on foot or horseback), bring back a famous Panama hat, or try the adventure from the treetops by sliding down the zip line.
