Embark for a one-hour journey to Colón, on the Atlantic coast, aboard the Panama Canal Railway.

Note: Departure from Panama at 7:15, except on weekends.

Departure for the city of Portobelo, discovered by Columbus in 1502.
Today, Portobelo is a quiet village whose ruins are listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO.
You can visit the remains of the forts of Santiago and San Jeronimo and San Felipe Church that houses the famous Cristo Nazareno or Black Christ.
If time allows it, make sure you visit the Royal Customs building that houses a small museum explaining the history of the area.
Note: 2 to 3-hour drive (during the day).

Free time to discover Portobelo and its Afro-Caribbean atmosphere.
On the way to the Panamanian capital, we suggest you take a detour to the castle of San Lorenzo, a former pirate landmark at the mouth of the Chagres River.

Day dedicated to meeting the Emberas Quera.
A motorboat will take you up the river, to the community.
On the other side of the river, you will be greeted by the cacique (spiritual leader) and the children of the village. Throughout the day, you will discover their way of life and traditions, including the art of tattoos.

They will also share with you their knowledge of medicinal plants, they will show you their traditional dances and together you will go on a small island to watch the monkeys.

Finally, a typical fish dish is served on banana leaves.

You will head to the small village of Gamboa, ideally located between the Soberania National Park and the Panama Canal.

In the morning, meeting point at the small port of Gamboa, more precisely at the "muelle de la rampa", starting point of a day in the heart of the Panama Canal and the Gatun Lake (which largely feeds the river). Along you journey, you will get to explore the lush nature, tropical fauna and flora, and will observe many animals (toucans, crocodiles, monkeys, sloths...). You will navigate with container ships and other transient embarkations and enjoy an exceptional view over one of the world's most complex piece of technology.
Free time for swimming, fishing, or kayaking in this spectacular environment.

Take your vehicle and head to the province of Coclé, more specifically the Anton Valley nestled in the heart of an extinct crater.
On your way to this lush land, you will take the famous Bridge of the Americas. This one spans the canal and connects, in some way, North America and South America.
